What To Do About the Mayo?
I really like my sandwiches, tuna salad, turkey breast, low fat ham………….BUT I do crave the mayo on them. And unfortunately, real mayo has about 100 calories and 10 grams of fat per serving. The healthiest alternative is to use mustard instead. A serving of yellow or dijon mustard has fewer than 10 calories and virtually no fat. But for me, there are some sandwiches, like tuna salad, that just have to have the mayo. Many of the diet websites also recommend Miracle Whip which only has 35 calories per serving, but it also contains high fructose corn syrup and I really don’t like the taste. I have tried ALL of the light and fat free mayos and the only one that has acceptable taste is Hellmans Light Mayo, 45 calories and 1.5 grams of fat per serving. So that is what I use. Does anyone have any other ideas?
